S Y N O P S I S:
As a club DJ, Alex Reuben played this Brazilian track by Virginia Rodrigues. The title means 'Blackness of the Night'.
Inspired by dancing in a Brixton club with his friend Afua Awuku and looking at the dynamic paintings of Jackson Pollock, he set out to translate his experience into a dance film.
LINE DANCE combines state of the art computer game technology, using 24 cameras simultaneously, with the pioneering film animation techniques of artists including Norman McClaren and Stan Brakhage.
Alex & Afua worked out the dance, then Alex tore his Achilles heel doing Kung Foo! Another DJ - Equal-I - stepped in for him and performed with Afua.
There are no cowboys in LINE DANCE.
