1996 9' Dance Film ACE / BBC Dance for the Camera Series
S Y N O P S I S:
A dark and provocative film in which the performers enter the terrain of movie mythology, playing with the power and responsibility of violent movie roles. BLOODY MESS is an exploration of our complex relationship with screen violence; how it can bring catharsis, escapism and empowerment as well as its destructive and seductive glamour.
BLOODY MESS uses extremes of gesture and movement to create an uneasy blurring of boundaries between fantasy and reality. It is Director / Choreographer Alison Murray's second film for Dance for the Camera.
